Bandai DC-8

Postby Tone » Wed Dec 30, 2009 3:05 am

Bandai is one of the largest toy makers in the world. In the 60s the firm was well-known for its tin toy autos. Not surprisingly the firm made some fine tin planes as well. What is surprising is that the firm also issued a small die cast metal DC-8 the size of today's 1:400 DC-8s. This example is KLM. The date November 1961 is pencilled onto the box.

Even though it's unrealistic, it's one of my favorite die cast metal jet planes.
