Daisy P-47D Thunderbolt

Had one of these around 1964 or 64, was very large and realistic in appearance, battery powered and taxied with the propellor rotating. Had small buttons in front of the canopy which retracted the landing gear in the same manor as the real P-47, also released a center mounted bomb, 8 flashing chattering wing guns, landing lights, and the canopy opened and had a good pilot figure. Was constructed of both metal and heavy plastic, of the same type used in Daisy air rifles, and was VERY heavy and well made. Was a FANTASTIC toy of a type you just cannot find anymore. I guess the 50's & 60's must have been the pinnacle years for toys of this type. Anybody remember this one, or have pictures?

Tomiyama made this toy P-47 for Daisy-matic.

Here is a photo I saved from a recent auction.

Was there also a P-40 in this series? Ron Smith shows one in his book and attributes it to Marx but it has the same three buttons near the canopy. I have neve seen a real one before.

Yes, that's it! Was very sturdy and a great toy! Lasted until I out grew it.

I remember with absolute certainty that my P-47 was marketed by Daisy, and remember having a brochure in the box with both the Daisy toys and air rifles. I do not remember a P-40, but might have been made by the same manufacturer in (Japan?) and marketed by someone else as you said.
