Spotted tonight on an on-line auction site: an interesting SANCHIS LA ISLA brand, Spanish-made plastic Phantom.

Could it be a built-up kit ?? Look at that nose wheel strut, very un-toy-like and more of a model!

Spanish Aircraft Toys, Tin and Plastic

It's a plastic toy with a friction drive, not a kit.

You find them usually in Spain and France, very often even boxed and from old stocks.

Shape is great, but unfortunately plastic... :(

And there are more planes existing, I remember a green Mirage.

I have seen some Sanshi airliners, Tone and Chris, very nice and all plastic, but they were all sold as complete toys and I think your phantom was, too, ie NOT a kit. I don't think they exported much, only seen a few airliners in france in 30 years. All without box. That is a beautiful Phantom.

I have several Sanchis harriers in my collection and I'm currently refurbishing one. Chris & GR are correct, they are plastic friction toys not kits, large in scale, typically with an external battery pack. The quality of construction could use some improvement, but the sheer size of these toys is impressive. I have seen various helicopters, planes, and jets typically on sale on a spanish auction site: todocoleccion

Here are some photos.

incredible toys, wish I had started collecting them. Chris I have never seen those aircraft before. I passed on a Caravelle, I believe, which was wonderful but no box and some parts missing, never seen another. I like plastic toys, especially if they are well done and the Sanchis are in my opinion are very well done.

Some photos of Sanchis prop planes. I'll upload some photos of the Sanchis harrier I've been refurbishing this weekend. Just applied the last application of clear coat. :)

Thanks to METALAV8B for thinking of the rotor heads!

Sanchis did make some REALLY nice toys. I have few helicopter variants not shown. Check 'em out...

Might be Sanchis aircraft toys were forgotten for a long time but here on MAC they are now rightfully honored. I am surprised I do not have even one in my collection. Will need to rectify that.
I like that Bell 47 a lot. I flew it in the Army {called an OH-13..and never with doors} and it was like a heavy sports car, sort of an airborne MG TD. Mark, did you ever get the chance?
