Asahi Toys DC-7 or Electra?

This blue box, with its beautiful artwork, promises a realistic American Airlines DC-7 inside.

The plane inside, however, is marked as an ELECTRA, which I find charming. It's in that overall deep blue color that many toy makers have used over the years.

Neither DC-7 nor Electra in shape! It is really more of an Avro Tudor ... wouldn't you agree? Look at those wings, that tail fin ... only the engine nacelles would hint at a DC-7, and the livery is somewhat like that of an Electra in the AA delivery colors.

I agree on the Tudor look. What a mish-mash!
Great example of the genre, though!
So, do you think they were trying to catch the reflection of the blue sky off the silver metal? It might have been a good idea, but it's obviously way overdone.
