Road Champs Flyers Boston Havoc

This one was a gift from Bill Keel quite some years ago. He worked at Love Field refuelling jets.

It is not quite a hulk but it is missing a few key pieces, as you can see.

Darn that missing nose piece! I've got buckets of these as I think you have one of the later issues from Magic, which was a Dallas based distributor. It's actually a DB-7, which was the designation for the French air force, and also what the Lintoy catalog called it. It's a nice piece, and an unusual piece for any "toy" line. It was exciting to be able to pick these up in the mid '90s!

It is a wonderful casting of an unusual subject, but those roundels are not French, but rather British, just sayin.

This just in...the DB-7 was never a part of the Road Champs line! ...just had to check my records. I see lots of Road Champs Flyers, but no DB-7 in that line. Flyers originally was it's own generic line, being sold at Woolworths, McCrory's and similar, although the DB-7 isn't shown for those issues.
Originally a Lintoy mold, it was also released as ERTL and Bachmann pieces, as shown. It was also released as a WWII Flyers, and finally in the Magic (no name) issue. I used to pick them up at Albertson's in the DFW area until the late '90s.
Gosh...the Lintoy molds sure got around!
