I got it cheap because one of the elevators had fallen off and needed reattachment - use Testors glue not crazy glue for repairing these. Even though this was technically new out of the box - bags was still stapled to the foam inset - the stickers and original glues had deteriorated badly.

It's about the same 1:400 scale as this Gemini example and has retractable landing gear. A little thicker than the Gemini but otherwise reasonably well proportioned.

A nice look at where the hobby has gone in 3-4 decades! The Gemini is a far better model, no doubt about that, but it's hardly a kids' toy. Also it retails at $35 or so, with the Bachmann originally retailing at KMart for .83c. That's a huge jump in pricing, even over the decades.
The Gemini is also a specialty item...you won't find them in a general retailer...you go on-line, to a collectibles show, or the Sky Mall mag to find them. Not at the grocery, hardware, Woolco or other such store.
Fascinating juxtaposition!
Thanks
Michael
