while not diecast, these vintage American rubber toys, made mostly by the Sun Rubber Company and the Auburn Rubber Company were available from the mid 1930s up to the 1950s when they were overtaken by hard plastic and die cast toys. Hard to find in good condition with the props present.
I just saw these in a 1940 Sears wish book on line. They are from a Happi Time airport set. The silver sea plane that looks like a Boeing 314 but with just two fins was red. You have another variant to look for unless the artist just colored it red for the heck of it (it was a drawing).
