b-32 dominator

Ive recently gotten hooked on anything related to the consolidated B-32 bomber. not many where made and most where sadly flown straight from the factory to the boneyard. No examples survive that I'm aware of. I was wondering If anyone here has any examples of this acft in there collection that they could share. always like seeing others collections of WWII bombers. I have Sutcliffe vacuum form kit, but at least for right now, its a bit out of my skill level to assemble.

That Sir is an awesome example. Is that in 1/72 scale?

I don't know why, but I really enjoy this plane. I recently got a leveling plate for this acft that they used to ensure she stayed level while full jacking. Hope to put together a small collection specific to the b-32.

Yeah, good luck with anything B-32!
You can take an Academy B-50, an Airfix B-29 and the Matchbox Privateer kits and do a major kit-bash to come up with a model...if your skills are there!

American Airlines flew cargo in a modified version of one of these in the late 40s! There is a photo in REG Davies' book.

Nope...that's the Liberator Liner! It's really based on the B-24, not the B-32.

For whatever its worth - the only remaining large componant of a B-32 is a stabilizer that is part of a war memorial south of San Diego.

Aviation Usk did a 1/72 vacuformed B-32 with, IIRC, injection molded props and undercarriage. I'll have to dig it out to make sure. No photo equipment at the moment, but shall post some photos when I can.

On a lighter note: Several years back the tabloids bleated out the news that a "WWII bomber has been found on the moon!!!" The photo accompanyinmg the article showed an intact B-32 resting on the floor of a crater Gotta love the tabloids.

There is one more B-32 kit. Anigrand Craftswork does a 1/72 scale cast resin beauty, produced in the last few years.
Expensive, but worth it.
