I would say a casting from an ID model ? it was common practise by aircraft fitters to melt down alloy and make crude castings that were fettled up into ashtray models or given to girlfriends etc.

Are there any holes or markings on it? Maybe it's the angle, but it doesn't look like any ID model version I've ever seen, whether US or UK in origin. I probably just haven't seen enough of them yet to recognize it. -- Bryan
