The Tin Hiller Hornet

This aircraft actually flew well in prototype form but was never produced in series. It used pulse jets in the rotor tips for no-torque creating power {and hence no need for a tail rotor}, and the inclined/slant hinged rudder used the rotor's down force to help with hover taxi turns. I have two, the second one is a slightly different color.
One has to admire the comic book style graphics.

as an aside, I once tried to fly a Huey at night in VN using a first generation, hand held binoclular style night vision unit. Not easy to do. Induced vertigo. The Hiller Hornet pilot doesn't seem to have any problems, though!

The interior is certainly 'Art Troumpf' a method used by artists to attain realism and add depth, this is a superb little tin helicopter, the full sized could be heard almost five miles away and that is on the ground ! there is a tin Djinn helicopter as well.

OK.

I notice, now, that this green toy is a friction toy with the TN, Toys Nomura trade mark.

The silver one with the cartoon dog is a different toy. It is a battery-operated, remote-control toy with a plastic canopy, and the brand is Alps.

As far as the Alps remote control battery operated toy goes, I am only familiar with those two lithographies: the dog and the rabbit. I love these lithos cause they really remind me of classic bomber nose art!
