Ron Smith says, it's Tekno... and very expensive!

I say, it's ... odd.

Chris, Tone, nothing much gets past you guys.
All I know is the actual plane judging from the registration was a Vickers Viking, crashed in 1946, the same year it was delivered.
The toy then should be post war but this seems illogical as production must have been simultaneous with the beginning of their die cast aircraft , the lovely Danish SAI Kramme & Zeuthen KZ.4. I have a sliver and red one with the same registration.

Here are some examples of the KZ 4.

Tekno did a very nice line of tin Fire equipment which for some reason interested me many years ago and I acquired some of the items.

If you have any extra landing gear or a tail, LMK! :(
Tekno also made a wooden hanger for their tinplate plane. Sue Richardson in her April 1991 article (Model Collector) says that Tekno started producing the tinplate range in 1935 but stopped in 1940 [sic] when tinplate was directed 100% the war effort by the Germans who were occupying Denmark. (Other sources say the Danes had to stop non-war tinplate usage in 1943.) That's whenTekno switched to wooden toys, hence the wooden Falck fire station and wooden hanger. She also states that they started up the tinplate in parallel with diecast cars and planes in 1952 - diecast continued but the tinplate stopped, this time for good, in 1955. So these planes could be pre or post WWII!

Thanks for the info. Mine came with pilots but I do not know if they are original or part of another set.

Your pilot looks like the drivers that came with (or were accessories for) the tinplate fire trucks! Very nice score - they are much rarer than any of the vehicles. The tinplate plane has been shown with a white uniformed guy on stretcher - so a kid could open the "front door" of the plane and load an injured guy! Nice play value. Will have to add a few of those to my wanted list ;)
