This plane has a trade mark I have not seen before, a Y and F superimposed. The plane itself is nicely modelled. The metal nose retracts into the body. There is also a larger size example that makes sparks, with a red fish-shaped cutaway on the side.

I have found out "on line" that Yachio is the name of the manufacturer !

You can also find this toy in a shade of very, very pale blue.

Also I made a mistake ! The larger size Crusader does not have a fish-shaped cutaway on the side. It is the Bandai brand Douglas B-66 that has the fish on the side.

The upper wings show the "very pale blue." It looks as though the toy maker Yachio had to modify its lithography to include "FOREIGN" under the tail fin because of different laws in different countries!

What I find cool is that these appear to be photo versions of the F8U....The F8U-2P. How often did the photo "pukes" get recognised with a tin toy!

Very nice examples.....
