Wow! How are you able to post images? I didn't think that was possible on the site. Can you post a complete set of instructions? Many of us would appreciate it a lot!!

Click on Img in the top list you get double bracketed img and /img.Open the image you want in a new tab ( long press or right click) and copy it
and insert the copied URL between bracketed img and bracketed /img (leave no spaces) Only the left hand half of the Ebay hosted image will show up though can click to thefull image

Thank you for posting the instructions. I now understand how we are able to link to existing images on the web as you are doing. But, sadly, we still can't upload a new "raw" image. Unfortunately, the linked web photos often eventually fail. A number of "dead link" photos already exist on this website. Oh, well...

Hi hovermd.... I've not come across a forum hosting site before where the attachment feature had run out for everybody or do they just want more money for a 'Premium' plan or something? Flickr free accounts are a partial solution ...hope they don't do like Photobucket did! Facebook's unlimited image storage is a solution...but the downside on FB is trying to find stuff six months later!! When I feature an image 'hotlink' from ebay I try to pick a photo that at least shows the nose of the plane when cut in half in the MACforum display ! ! A30yoyo (Micky)

I'm not really certain about the technicalities of why this MAC site can no longer accept and store new images. The site was originally created by the wonderful aviation toy collector, G.R. Webster. For a significant period, participants donated funds to help defray the operational costs. I suspect G.R. still paid the lions share, as he was an incredibly generous and dedicated collector and authority in the hobby. Then, sadly, G.R. passed away a few years back. The new site caretaker, Michael Bludworth, eventually elected to shift emphasis to a Facebook version of the site, which can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1455830264632321. The Facebook Group is an enjoyable and noble effort, but naturally brings with it all the good and bad of the Facebook platform.

The end result is that this wonderful website is more or less in "stasis." I guess the now aged back-end program running the site simply can't handle more data. A long-time member and friend of mine somehow lost his login, and he can't even re-establish access. I guess not much can be done, barring a renewed initiative to pool resources and fund the needed upgrades. I've offered to help with that effort, but it hasn't gained any traction.

I just made a space in my full-up free Flickr account for a straightened up version of this DC-7C. It's a big accurate model (by tin litho standards forsure) and Yonezawa made it in many paint schemes and a version with Electra type engines

Turboprop version of the Yonezawa DC-7C.....there really was a Douglas projected version with Rolls-Royce Tyne turboprop and a swept fin!!

I love impressively large tinplate toys like these. I and others have featured a number of large tin helicopters on this site, but none really rival the size of these behemoths. It's remarkable that toys like these could be produced affordably enough to make them reasonably obtainable by the average consumer.

Yes some of the late 1950s Japanese tin toy planes were magnificent but plastic crept in to cut assembly costs. Any idea what price a DC-7C was in the airport shops back then? I'd love a tin Rotodyne but I fear they've gone 'stratospheric'!

I just noticed that the link to the medium size image I uploaded of this type toy 2years ago has survived on the forum elsewhere but it probably won't last long...it's still there if you long-press on the symbols
