Here's this popular toy plane from another angle. It is a real beauty, mixture of brute force and toy-like charm, and imposible to find with the box (I do not have one!)

Boeing B50D. Thanks for sharing the beautiful colour pictures.
I have two, though both of mine have problems. One is missing
half the horizontal stabilizer, while the other is missing the landing gear.
Nevertheless, I am glad just to have found them.

Great looking examples! I have one in very good shape except a small repair to the tail wheel attachment.

I seem to remember two versions of this plane by Yone/Yonezawa, a 19 in wingspan, which is the one I have and looks like the one in the photos posted, and a smaller one. Looking in Smith's Toy Airplanes book, I noted a larger 19 in wingspan B/O (which I think means battery operated) B50 that is different in appearance than this one. However, he shows one that looks like this one (picture on page 102 - T21) as having a 15 inch wingspan, so this could be the smaller version I think I have seen on eBay.

Mine is friction with a 19 in wingspan. Are the ones posted here this size or smaller? And Friction? Anyone have an example of any of the other tin B50s they could share. I think there may be four different tin versions (not all by Yonezawa) of this beauty.

The 19" WS B-50 is usually found as a friction toy, the 15" WS version is always a friction toy. There's a battery-operated version 19" WS B-50 in blue. Twenty years ago Yanagisawa Koji sent me a photo of the one he has; it is really beautiful, and scarce too!

The smaller 15" Tomiyama-Yonezawa B-50 is a 1956 issue, it's there in another thread, it also has "Cragstan" printed on the bottom.
