Some planes are really hard to find but...

...sometimes, some products just surprise us.

In the Philippines, some toy stores started selling these cheap planes of some unknown brand. They cost around $2 each.
Funny is the choice of product. They're all classics!

They have the 727, 707, DC8, DC10 and 757 in 1:400 (Plus the Tu-154 which is the most unusual, I should say...); 747 and L1011 in 1:500.

I'll post more pics soon, but here are the T-tails:

The 1:400 toy model makers, and the North American and European entrepreneurs who commission them, are notorious for espionage and double dealing! These toys could be made from molds originally used for the "Tucano line" or some other Chinese-made product intended for sale by American and European entrepreneurs. Only detailed examination of different model makers' products can reveal which toy models come from which molds ! Reading the 1:400 collector forums reveals all kinds of skullduggery and severe name-calling and finger-pointing.

Actually, in looking at the photos of these toys, the items could've been made by putting a 1:400 model into sand to make a casting, using the resulting mold to cast the toys, and fitting them with the oversized wheels. Sue Richardson has described this process in her 1997 book.

The markings under the wings are embossed names of the planes: 727-200 and Tu-154...
