One of the rarest Solido aircraft

The blue series of Solido are much harder to find today than the silver ones and I would guess a complete Alize is the rarest { the props break and the tail support goes missing} but there is another variant of the silver series that might be even rarer.
Here is the SUPER MYSTERE B-2 in the common finish

and here is the rare one

From an old French Collector friend, Maurice Mouraux, here is what he had to say about the variant I found:
"THIS IS THE RAREST VARIANT OF ALL SOLIDOS. IT WAS ONLY IN PRODUCTION WITH RED ARROW FOR A PERIOD OF WEEKS THEN ISSUED WITHOUT THE RED ARROW. ONLY ONE OTHER KNOWN TO EXIST." { This was written back in 1995 so perhaps more have turned up by now}.

I recall the Solido line to be very similar to the Mercury line but just bigger, I loved both brands, and everytime I add a comment to any of these posts, it brings back memories of my collection and wished that I had not been forced to sell it, i remember at the time saying"Will someone come and save me" needless to day "NO ONE DID" So...... social ill's find their way to us and destroy the things we've built up.\I can only imagine how my plane collection would have looked today, wow !

That lightning bolt decal almost looks like an American Airlines cheat line! :)

Mark, there has been a persistent French collectors' rumor of blue Solido H-19s and H-21s, but I have never seen one in collections in france, where one, if it existed, would normally be found. The Solido expert was Maurice Mouraux, now deseased and he had never seen one either, and doubted their existence. But who knows?

Many items in my extensive Solido collection including some excellent condition helicopters will be sold end June by Vectis. The catalog is not up yet, and you need to register for the liver and internet bidding, but you can get a preview here:

the catalog is now on the internet- 300 lots with many have several aircraft, all well described and photographed
