In one of the other posts, GR was showing a relatively unknown maker from France (RM). I wondered what most collectors considered the most rare maker/country was. I have seen the toys from most continents, but wondered what everyone thought was the rarest point of origin. All of Western Europe, US, Australia, Japan, China, India, Russia have made the toys for the commercial marketplace. Anyone know of any Middle eastern or African producers? South America? What about Eastern European countries? Also, what is your rarest example?

Not sure how rare any that I have are, but the Pope B-29 from Australia was hard to find. A skybirds wood/metal from England does not come up often on eBay.

There is a small tin Turkish Airlines toy plane made in Turkey. This toy may be locally common but it might have also had a short production life. A French collector has it on his web site.

I just learned the manufacturer. GUREL of Istanbul, Turkey. There are at least two color variants of this toy.
