MAC Meeting In Houston October 18th
Again this year, in conjunction with the Airliner Collectibles Show at The 1940 Air Terminal Museum at Hobby Airport, we will endeavor to meet and trade stories and adventures in the world of Miniature Aircraft Collecting! I have attached the flyer for the show. Hobby (HOU) is easy to fly into and the hotel will provide bus transport to and from the airport, hotel and the museum as needed. There is a modest discount for attendees staying at the show hotel and I would encourage you to do the same. Supporting this show makes it easier to have another one next year!
Last year we saw attendance from most of the collectors in Texas and while that was nice, we'd sure like to see some of you others. Sadly we cannot promise of provide the kind of comeraderie that GR Webster provided over the past decades, but we can guarnatee that you will spend a few nice days amongst fellow collectors and enthusists.
Last year we shared an after show dinner together and I'm certain that will happen again this year.
Since this is a "Collectibles Show", it's also an opportunity for you to sell your excess stock or even pick up some new pieces. Please contact the table vendor (Duane Young) as shown on the show flyer.
We are always looking for enthusiast collectors who might want to entertain the notion of doing a "presentation" during or after the show - if you have something special to share. For instance, last year Danny Samuels brought some new Shapeways 1/200 pieces in for examination. The rest of us present shared items from our collections and generally had a good time!
I am looking forward to doing it again this year and hope that y'all can join us!
Please contact me directly for more information if needed and please distribute the show flyer as much as possible!
Michael
PS: This show also has the unique ability for visitors to fly in directly to the Museum! If you have access to light aircraft simply fly to Hobby Airport and request the Museum Ramp from ATC! Your aircraft can remain on our ramp for the duration of the show plus there are a variety of FBOs on the field.
PPS: Since the Museum is at Hobby Airport you can also fritter away time watching airplanes!
