53 Dunkerque battle ship (No not out of subject).

This plane is not listed in any of the Dinky Toys books.



It is usually thought that the three reconnaissance aircraft carried by the Dunkerque were monoplanes Loire 130. When the Dunkerque was launched, the Loire were not certified and Gourdon Lesueur GL-832 HY Biplanes were used for a while. The Dinky Toys Dunkerque is then identical to the actual one.



The scale is 1 : 1787, the wingspan is less than 1/4".

Any pictures of a Gourdon Lesueur GL-832 HY will be most welcomed.

Jacques, I know very little about early french aircraft but I did find some photos identified as being the Gourdou-Leseurre GL-832 HY {note spelling differences} introduced to the fleet in 1934, but it was an open cockpit, monoplane floatplane and not like the one you show in your photo on that Dinky ship???

There were not a lot of French biplane flying boats that I could find

May be the Meccano designers used an English biplane flying boat instead like the Walrus? But the Walrus had slightly swept back wings.
