I'm going to California next month and since it seems to be the place where a lot of airplane ashtrays originally came from, I'm wondering if any collectors can give me any tips or good advice on where to look for some to add to my collection while I'm there. I'll be in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

I have had luck finding things in those antique mall stores where stall holders rent a space in a large open store, set up, and let a manager sell items. Most old towns have them. Be sure and ask for a discount on the stickered price, it is usually at least 10%
