Swadair Bell 47 Helicopter

Sometimes mistaken for a Bell factory promo, this assembled model was issued in kit form by a 1950s toy firm called Swadair. There is another version that could be put together with out the medical stretchers.

Something told me GR had a kit somewhere! And of course it would be something I have never seen nor heard of before. That is really a neat little piece!

Hey, I was one of the guys who thought it was a promo by Bell. I acquired a few of them until one day Larry Mc Laughlin saw them and remarked that he didn't know I collected kits.....Kit collectors are another breed....go to a kit show and you will see what I mean.

Swadar issued the Bell 47 ,the XC-120 both as kits and already built up,not that there are a lot of parts in these models
They also had a Bell HSL-1 helicopter a rare model,also as a built up and a kit.

I have that Bell 47 but mine was built from a Kleeware kit,it was metallic blue plastic,the stretchers have got lost over time but it is still in my collection,some say it was the first ever plastic kit post war ?
