Thought a picture of a grouping from the Art Deco 1930's might be of interest. It includes a Wyandotte Mainliner with a set of Tootsie Toy "Air Stairs" and luggage train. In addition, there are the two Erie Northrops surrounded by a group of Barclay vehicles. All had suffered major damage in their previous lives and have been overhauled and upgraded. The wheels, incidently, are all 1/2" diam "Perfect" tailwheels used on RC models. The tanker trailer is a one-off and is waiting for the selected fuel company logos.

Here's a great Airport Set by Hishimo (HTC). It contains a Pan American Airways DC-8 Clipper Metor (N-8000PA), a cool International Airways Service Hiller Hornet style helicopter, a PAA Airport Service Follow Me jeep, a luggage carrying Limosuine, and a Mobile Gas fuel truck. Pretty sweet!

Thanks - this set was released at least as early as 1956.

I doubt it was released any earlier than that because according to my research, Boeing announced the jet in 1955, but it didn't fly until 1958.

The toy creaters at Hishimo must have really been on top of current aircraft design!

Besides autogiros and the VTOL aircraft I have in my collection, it's rare for me to be able to contribute something that features an airplane or jet in it.

That DC-8 is a nice large toy!

I have the toy set in my collection and it does have a tailfin with the early Pan Am Clipper globe logo.

Another classic; the Dinky Toys N°642 RAF bowser to refuel your military model planes on visit at RAF airfields.
Even old Matchbox had a small version of it.

Later than '56. The Chevy taxi on the cover has four headlights like the '58 but the side treatment of the '57 Bel Air.
