My big brother had one back then in the sixties and i have a friend who has one mint in box but he doesn´t want to sell it to me :( :( :( By the moment....

Hi Again Jesús:

As you already Probably konw, one of this Jyesa constellations, was recently sold in Todocolección, in a very interesting price, but only one problem, the tail wind was broken and repaired
I think it is the same pict that you posted above.

Spanish Aircraft Toys, Tin and Plastic. The Jyesa 707

Postby Jyesaboy » Fri May 20, 2011 10:36 pm

Continuing with the photos of the Jyesa airliner toys, here are some of them in my collection. First, the Boeing 707 all silver TWA likvery in two sizes with different reference number. All panel lines, rivets and details are exactly the same in both models. It´s incredible but seems the mould was reduced exactly in all details.

Note the different references "Juguete 162" and "Juguete 165"

Pictures of the smaller one. There was another one in TWA 70´s livery with the realistic white top as in the JYE brochure but i don´t have it. I had a couple of them back then in the 70´s.

JYESA also included in the 60´s and 70´s catalogues a great Boeing 727. An exact copy of the Modern Toys one. These were electric or friction powered as stated in the catalog. These were in three liveries: IBERIA, AIR FRANCE and LUFTHANSA. Here are some pics of the Air France one.
Note the three liveries drawn in the box.

Here is the Iberia one. This one was produced until late 70´s with minor modifications and another box.

Finally, the Lufthansa one. I don´t have it anymore cause i sold it to Michael and you can see it in his wonderful Lufthansa model collection. I enclose a pic with the Iberia and Lufthansa planes and the original Modern Toys one from Japan to compare. They are almost exact!!!

Spanish Aircraft Toys, Tin and Plastic. EKO

Postby grwebster » Sat May 21, 2011 7:05 am

Jesus, thanks for posting these aircraft toys. They are exceptional. I never saw any before, except perhaps a pre war tin Hawker Hurricane similar to the Rico one that I believe was made by JYESA.
There was a maker of small plastic aircraft called EKO in Spain that I know absolutely nothing about but have what I believe is all their aircraft.
Here is the standard box scale set of the assembled planes.
Image

Here are 5 of the larger scale ones and two blister kits that I found in Argentina back in the 1970s. I am sure Michael B knows more about where the kit molds ended up.

the Wal is quite nice, all smooth and no rivets. I also have a much large DC-3 in a plastic lidded container, but no photo at this time. I saw it a while ago and it was misplaced in a box in the garage.
I have not seen these EKO planes on ebay ever but perhaps I missed them.
I had heard that there was an EKO link to a German firm {Wiking?} but the EKO toys are not the same quality as Wiking and the style showing rivets is not even close. Busch from Germany made some plastic assembled aircraft in a similar style, but I haven't seen any of those in ages.
