I've never had the opportunity to fly an H-13, but would LOVE to someday!

And, I have to agree - the Sanchis Company is getting some much deserved credit as a terrific miniature toy aircraft manufacturer.

Note: Spanish insignia on the NASA X-15 ! ! !
BOAC Speedbird on an Air France Concorde - oops!

I have been interested in learning more about Sanchis La Isla toys since Hans reported seeing one at a toy show in 1989 (Plane News #2) - an SA 365 Dauphine, 16" long with three-bladed tin rotor.

That Starlifter is my favorite of the bunch :)

No tin planes, though, not even tin rotors on these choppers ...

Back in the 90s we had a Plane article in Antique Toy World that was originally one of GR's articles on collecting planes in general. I remember getting the issue and it had, on the cover, Sanchis La Isla toys of the 30s - a feature story in that edition. I remember that the man who founded the firm lived in a castle and used this as the firm's trade mark. The Disney character toys from the 30s are the most famous Sanchis La Isla products, I suppose.

JYE Juguetes y Estuches also made a plastic Iberia Caravelle - I saw one in the on-line Macaire Auction site.

Hi guys!
Hello all, i have seen this thread and i would like to add some information about old spanish toy brands. In the 60´s and beginning of 70´s there were several brands (unfortunately out of bussiness today :( ) which probably produced the best toys in the world if you think in the date they were produced. These were made of plastic or tin and electric or friction powered. I´m a spanish collector and i live close of where these toys were produced. I admit that sometimes the aircrafts were "copied" from japanese toys and some of them were exact copies (we will see this...) but sometimes the spanish copy was even better that the original one. I´m very fond of aviation, specially for commercial planes and my collection includes mainly these kind of planes.

By the way, the Caravelle was made by RICO (another important spanish brand) and not by Jyesa (JYE) that produced two wonderful planes: the Boeing 727 (copied exactly from the Modern Toys one) and in three liveries; Air France, Lufthansa and Iberia. And also a Boeing 707 in two sizes and TWA livery (friction powered). I have all these in my collection and i will post pictures of them. Here are pictures of the RICO Caravelle that was produced in two liveries: Air France and Iberia. I also include a picture of the 60´s Jyesa brochure showing 727 and 707´s.

The great thing about these toys was that they were HUGE!
These were also exported mainly to Europe but i think also to USA. In these times there weren´t big productions like nowadays. All of them were "made in Spain" and that`s the cause they are not seen very often out of Spain. Some of them are expensive and i only collect those which have special significance for me.

Hello Adolfo,
P.M. sent.

Sanchis also had (like JYE) a couple of 707 toys. Same logo box but two different liveries and also sizes. First one was a huge model in TWA colors and the second one (some years later) was a little smaller with not livery defined because of prohibition of using TWA logos and livery. Anyway, they used part of the decals with an ugly results. The big one was electric and the second one was friction powered. Still sanchis made a third 707 even smaller, friction powered and bagged instead of boxed for sell in kioskos. Nice model all cromed with spanish military circle flags on the wings!!

And here is one old masterpiece from JYESA: The Iberia Constellation. There were two of them "Santa Maria" and "Don Juan" Friction powered with wiring transmision to all props. This is almost impossible to find with box and prepare bucks if you find one... I don´t have this one. My big brother had one back then in the sixties and i have a friend who has one mint in box but he doesn´t want to sell it to me :( :( :( By the moment....
