Just wrapping up a minor overhaul on this P-47B aluminum model. I bought it thinking it was a trenchart item but once I scaled the airplane, turns out it has a shorter nose on it and the cockpit was carefully machined to replicate the same appearnce as the first production P-47B. The model was purchased from a seller on Long Island so chances seem to indicate something originally created at Republic Aircraft.

It received a new full cavity canopy using Rohm & Haas Plexiglas cockpit material from WW2. The prop is an old Aeroclub P-47 Curtiss prop in the right scale and turns. Eventually I may add some additional detail.

That's a fine restoration job. I did not know there was anything besides the bubble canopy and razorback models for the P-47. That model must be one rare item!
