Postwar REVELL Training Models?

Hi Everyone -
I was rummaging around looking for something else, when I ran across this old photo. I thought it might be of interest because it seems to indicate that certain old REVELL models were also used as ID training models. There's no way to document your ownership of one of these, of course, unless you have the supporting provenance, but it is a very interesting "aside". Who knew? I got this photo many years ago, but had totally forgotten about it until recently. Certainly, it opens up new avenues of investigation.

Bryan,
Interesting article. Brings up another question. Does anyone know if there are any "current" id models in use by the US or other countries? I only know of the foam tank models and the Dillon models (F15, F16).
