Matchbox/ Corgi Tornado?

Postby Striker1 » Sun Apr 26, 2015 5:18 pm

I was recently considering purchasing the Corgi Showcase Tornado GR.4 but decided against it due to the fact that I already have 3 versions of the Matchbox Skybusters Tornado (1 in ADV & 2 in IDS) and considered that the Matchbox Skybusters are of better quality.

What does everyone else think?

The Showcase model is smaller and is it's own scale - but it's a nice piece.
The Skybuster issues (which date from years and years ago) are also their own scale but have trenches for control and panel lines and the usual "off road" undercarriage. It's a toy, of course. It has a long release history. Why are you collecting this? Matchbox collector? Matchobox Skybuster collector? Showcase collector? Tornado aficionado?
The Showcase Model is a better model, in my mind, but is certainly more diminutive.
This one is your call...a nicer, little model or a bigger toy. It also has a long release history and it may be interesting to collect those old issues.
Good luck!
Michael
