These are BEAUTIFUL DINKY TOYS AIRCRAFT. If I had all these airplanes,
I would be one happy guy. I always liked the DINKY BAC JAGUAR, because
at the time, there was only the LINTOY example to compete with it.
The DINKY JAGUAR was the world standard for thirty years.
I like to shine my DINKY JETS with BRASSO. Try it sometime. The
airplanes look real good when polished. Regards, Richard

Richard, post a photo of that- also some others of your collection, we all love photos.
Bill, finally got that green and yellow nosed Dinky 'Big Plane' Me-109. Turns out it was only produced for small one run and was changed to the more widely produced desert camo version you have which is much nicer. The Stuka had the identical green and yellow nose as the first version of the Me-109 so perhaps it was an error.
Wish someone would reissue the plastic container tops of those toys- they seem to darken then crack over time.
I will post a photo this week when I get back to the USA and my collection.

GR,

I've seen 2 MIB on eBay. One had a Buy It Now for GBP300 and the other I bid US$400 but was outbid.

I found the attached listing of a company that makes reproduction plastic covers for Dinky Toys:

Bill, thanks for that site for the plastic covers- I note that they cost more than the original model with the airplane! But 1970 was 40 years ago, I guess. I will need some for sure.
I paid a lot for the green Me-109 but I have been looking for 15 years at least. I got mine in an auction in the UK and it was in the 275 pound range as I recall. :o Actually I do not wish to recall...LOL
Only really passionate collectors like you or me would pay that much for one. Well I guess there are others or I would have gotten it for much less.
Finally got a nice Hubley Spirit of St Louis, reasonable price but not NOS. That was the last cast iron toy plane I wanted for the collection, just as well.

Interesting comments regarding the value of the green Bf-109. I got mine in unplayed (!) condition with a missing prop and a crack in the canopy for 15,- Euro. If these values are truely paid, I have to consider to get a sand-camo in the box and swap the parts to get the green one complete again.

Further more some months I passed a mint/boxed green Bf-109, which was offered for 75,- euro...

I've seen Dinky Bf-109 replacement parts like props and canopies on Ebay. There are a couple of clear canopies on Ebay now for roughly $9 on a Buy It Now. I searched using "Messerschmitt".

If anyone is interested, Dinkycollectors.com is advertising a green Bf-109 for GBP 575.
