25th Anniversary livery JG 71 'Richthofen'
Posted: Sat Jan 19, 2013 3:33 amformed in 1959 Jagdgeschwader 71 was given the honary title of 'Richthofen' on the 21st April 1961, the 43rd anniversary of the Red Baron's death. originally equipped with the Sabre (reputed to be Hartmann's favourite aircraft) and the Star Fighter(said to be his least favourite), before the introduction of the Phantom in 1974.
