So I gather you're happy with his restoration work. And I see from his website that he has a strong familiarity with Curtiss factory models. Good. I have a P-40 that needs the deft touch of a professional.

Looks like he's currently not accepting projects due to backlog, though.

I first met some20 years ago when he lived in NY state.
His work is exceptional, but he is meticulous, and it doesn't surprise me to know he has a backlog.
This said, as he works on what he loves, why not show him some pics of your projects, he might bump you up the line?

That's high praise indeed. I think I will send him some pics, simply because I've got to get in line sometime! Plus, I just want to know more about the model itself, and he seems like the perfect resource to go to.

Well, I've corresponded with Doug--and he is one of the nicest darn guys you can imagine. He shared his experiences in working with old P-40 factory models and even sent me some pics of early-model P-40s he got to work on. Well, I guess I really do have a factory model because it's a dead ringer for those pics despite its heavy-handed restoration job. I'll post his pictures in the "Manufacturer's Models" section once I get them uploaded.

Unfortunately, he's booked up solid with other people's work and wants to work on some of his own models after that! He gave me plenty of good guidance on how to put my model in order, but the truth is, I don't have the confidence to do it given my limited skills. Maybe I'll undertake this later, but my P-40 is doing fine sitting on my shelf, so there's no hurry.

Chris, glad you linked up with him
He used to live in Rochester NY home of Curtiss so he knew those models
