Schowanek

I have never heard of this brand before ... maybe you have ... they do not appear to be official recognition models; perhaps they were wooden kits similar to Strombecker.

Hello Tony,

Schowanek was the official supplier of 1/50 scale ID models for the German Luftwaffe. Later during the war these models were made also by other companies in Germany following Schowanek's instructions.
These larger ID models made from wood were used in supplementation to the well known Wiking metal/plastic models in scale 1/200.

Schowanek continued business after the war with making ship models of scale 1/1250. They were advertised as "Hansa-Schowanek".

I guess, not all models shown in the picture are from Schowanek. Factory paint was dark green all around, with type inscription on bottom. Of course some models were painted and used as toys after the war.
