In the summer of 1977 I made my first trip to Europe with my mother and my aunt. Last day in Rome was a Sunday morning, shops were closed, and we were getting ready to leave for the airport. In a shop window I saw a battery toy of a combination Alitalia DC-9 747. I had never seen anything like it before ... nor since.

Until now. Finally, I found a photo of one:

I remembered this toy as being tin plate but it looks as though it is made entirely of plastic, hence my posting it here.

It looks like the brand is "ellegi" and model # is 190W. That's another new one for me! (probably a contraction of elletrico + giocattolo, electric toy since it's battery operated).
